Trade Ambassador
It is the responsibility of a State Trade Ambassador to improve trade and employment in the state. Surprisingly, most US states do not have an officially named trade ambassador. The US Federal government trade ambassador, while called Ambassador is officially known as the U.S. Trade Representative. The Obama administration's current Trade Representative is Ambassador Ron Kirk. See an interesting interview by the LA Sentinel, Ambassador Ron Kirk Leads President Obama's Trade Agenda. Trade Ambassador Responsibilities
In addition to bringing businesses to locate in a state, trade ambassadors introduce the businesses to the community and encourage them to join the local Chamber of Commerce. One interesting way to encourage networking with other businesses is the use of a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Ambassador Kapneck Ribbon Cutting Creates CelebrationMore About Trade Ambassador Kapneck
